We recommend a static filtering system in your unit, garage or shed. Initially a 1000 litres static tank is sufficient. The beauty of a static system is that you can add more storage tanks to the system, providing you with a large source of pure water.

All you have to install on your vehicle(s) is a delivery tank (apropriate to van payload) plus a pump and varistream (varistream optional). Pump psi is recommended at 100psi.

Tanks

Tanks need to be baffled. Baffles work to break the flow of the water inside the tank, avoiding heavy slopping and movement. Many IBC tanks do not have baffles. Always be sure to check your vehicle payload to ensure you install the right tank appropriate to your vehicle. It is also highly recommended that you use high tensile bolts to install the tank. Many companies now offer fitting and advice.

Trailer systems

The benefit of trailer systems are that once bought it is very unlikely that you will ever need to replace. Trailer systems are not susceptible to breakdown or heavy maintenance. They can also be left onsite whilst the towing vehicle is used for other necessary work. An added benefit is extra advertising space.

Battery

Your choice of battery should be a solid leisure battery. Always ensure you have a spare as leisure batteries can be used for 2-3 years but then they tend to lose there charge rapidly. Be sure to have a battery charger on hand to keep things ticking over. Some systems link straight into the vehicle power source, but this runs a high risk of draining the battery to the vehicle.

Poles

There is a huge variety of poles on the market now. Just 5 years ago, it was difficult to find a suitable pole because of lack of choice, now it seems it is difficult to establish the right pole to use because there is to much choice.

Poles vary from the super light commercial poles, to the standard residential poles. If you are a sole trader working purely on residential you may opt for the Unger HiFLO poles as they are much cheaper than the commercial poles.

If you are a commercial cleaner covering high rise apartments and offices, it is highly recommended that you use a high quality pole that does not splinter when used at height. Ionics, Omnipole and Brodex offer varied poles for these applications.
